The Cards

Radical Chinese games (Vocabulary and Radicals) have three levels of play (blue, yellow and red for the Radical Game and Green, Purple and Orange for the Vocabulary game). The Radical game covers over 90 radicals and the Vocabulary game includes more than 100 characters.

In each game, the basic level, covers 30 of the more common radicals/characters and has only 6 radicals/characters displayed on each card making it easier to find a match. The more advanced levels each cover over 50 radicals/characters, 30 new ones along with approximately 20 from previous levels for review. The two harder levels have 8 radicals/characters displayed on each card.

All cards have two sides. One side displays only the radical/character while the other side has both the radical and the pinyin or the character, pinyin and English for each radical/character from the other side. This allows beginners to play the games using the side with the pinyin to learn the radicals.characters. Advanced players can use the radical/character only side and use the side with the pinyin to check their knowledge or confirm any disputes or questions that may arise during play.
